Mesmerizing Movements: Hong Kong’s Classic Hot Guy, Tony Leung Chiu-wai | Hot Asian Guy Friday

Classic hot guy, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, star of classic Wong Kar-wai films, such as the critically acclaimed, Happy Together and In the Mood for Love, is making his Hollywood debut as the supervillain in the upcoming Marvel movie, Shang-Chi. He plays the Mandarin, descendent of Genghis Khan and terrorist responsible for multiple terrorist attacks in the Marvel universe.

Is not the first time Tony is involved in an action films. He’s been in martial arts films, playing a swordsman in Ashes of Time, as well as playing Ip Man, Bruce Lee’s master, in The Grandmaster, which opened the 2013 Cannes Festival.

Check out this epic opening scene for the film:

The actor, known for his roles in Hong Kong arthouse cinema, is the sexist in his role in In the Mood for Love. A film in which him and co-star, Maggie Chung, swept the best actor and actress awards at Cannes in 2000.

Here’s Tony, on GQ, with fellow hot guy, Japanese-Taiwanese actor, Takeshi Kaneshiro.

“There’s a sexiness in how confined we are”, Chung said in an interview after the film screened at TIFF. “The film was set in a the 60s, the clothes we wore confined our movements. There’s something subtly sensual about each and every one of our movements because each movement is deliberate, has a purpose, implications, and intention.”

That’s also why Tony is so hot. He’s a quiet person, often mysterious, doesn’t engage himself with the media much and enjoys reading at home. His somewhat stoic personality and gentleness can be observed in the characters he plays and even translates to his martial arts. We’re excited to see this stud kicking ass in the upcoming Marvel movie.

He also has a great smile and a lovely accent.
